Life seemed without clear purpose.
I decided to go on a vision quest. I wanted to find the ultimate meaning of my time on earth.
I said my goodbyes and set off.
I trudged wearily through the deserts of Sudan.
I meandered through villages in eastern Turkey, learning how the people approached life.
I went to the land of the dawn-lit mountains, visiting hill tribes in India’s Arunachal Pradesh region.
But still I felt empty. I hadn’t found what I was seeking.
I kept traveling, always looking for the doorway that would open my future to me.
And then I found it. In Rome.
I was fulfilled.
